Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer announced that his office has won a legal victory in its effort to prevent deliveries of marijuana to pot users.
He said in a statement that the state’s 2nd Court of Appeal has affirmed a preliminary injunction against marijuana delivery app operator NESTDROP.
“This ruling is a significant step forward in our effort to stop medical marijuana delivery services,” he said. “Marijuana deliveries violate Prop D and flout the will of the voters who enacted it.”
The ruling upheld a preliminary injunction granted in December 2014 against NESTSROP, a smartphone app through which marijuana deliveries can be arranged.
“The injunction will prohibit the operators of the app from facilitating deliveries of medical marijuana in the city and directs the app to be modified accordingly,” Feuer said.
Feuer’s office said that since the city attorney took office, 716 marijuana businesses have closed across the city and 365 cases have been filed against 1,444 defendants.
