“Zootopia” continued to be the most popular movie at the nation’s box offices this weekend.
The Disney animated film took in $38 million in the United States and Canada, and sales in China this weekend were estimated at a robust $38.6 million, according to studoio estimates released to comScore, an industry analysis firm. Including those two markets, the film took in $102.8 million this weekend, and has banked $591.7 million worldwide.
Second place was held down by “The Divergent Series: Allegiant” with an estimated $29.1 million in weekend domestic sales.
Rounding out the 10 most-popular films in the North Americna market, as estimated by the studios and collated by comScore, were “Miracles From Heaven” ($15 million), “10 Cloverfield Lane” ($12.5 million), “Deadpool” ($8 million), “London Has Fallen” ($6.9 million), “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” ($2.8 million), “The Perfect Match” ($1.9 million), “The Brothers Grimsby” ($1.4 million), and “The Revenant” ($1.2 million).
