Marina Del Rey’s Burton W. Chace Park to Host Halloween Event

Marina del Rey’s waterfront Burton W. Chace Park soon will be taken over by zombie pirates, ghouls, and other spooks during the community’s new Halloween event, Harvest Days & Haunted Nights, October 28-30.

Kids can enjoy non-scary daytime fun, including face-painting, carnival games, a train ride, costume contests, pirate ship tours, and more. When evening approaches, and a spooky marine mist creeps over the park, get ready for spine-tingling thrills. (Evening activities are recommended for ages 13+.)

The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors tapped Draw Events for design and production services, and the spirited crew will be the force behind “haunted” tall ships available for tours during the event’s evening hours.

Draw has produced several nautically focused events, including the 2014 Tall Ships Festival of LA. Evening attendees can also enjoy a hay maze, demonstrations from a master pumpkin carver, costume contest (Friday only), DJ entertainment, and more.

Admission is free, and food is available for purchase. Burton W. Chace Park is located at 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey. Parking is available in adjacent County Lots #4 and #77 on Mindanao Way.

The Marina del Rey Visitors Bureau will hold a social media photo contest to help promote the weekend events. To participate, attendees should share their images taken at the festival using #MdRhalloween and tagging @marinadelrey_ca. Ten winners will receive a restaurant gift card or attraction pass to use in Marina del Rey.

Pay stations take credit cards and cash. The public can direct questions about the event to the Marina del Rey Visitors Center at 310.305.9545; http://www.visitmarinadelrey.com/event/harvest-days-haunted-nights.
