All things pets Saturday at Westwood Rec Center.

Part pet party, part adoption event, the Annual Doggie Street Festival (DSF) Adopt-a-thon and Pet Celebration is an occasion no animal lover in West Los Angeles will want to miss.

Doggie Street Festival is dedicated to increasing dog and cat adoption through its yearly Festival and will take place September 15, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Westwood Recreation Center (1350 S. Sepulveda Blvd.).

“The event is designed to be an informative experience that promotes public awareness and educates on issues of responsible adoption, foster, spay/neuter and conscientious pet guardianship,” reads DSF’s mission statement. “DSF celebrates our pet companions and urges the public to act, advocate and work together to effect positive change and help end the tragedy that is pet homelessness.”

At the festival will be a diverse range of information on topics concerning pet care, health, training and overall pet well-being.

For those looking to adopt, there will be two rescue service in attendence: Second Hand Animals and Westside German Sheperd Rescue of LA.

The public is encouraged to bring their friendly dogs to the festival, enjoy music, tasty eats, vet speakers, cool pet products and services, a kid art area and special guests.
