A man was killed today in an officer-involved shooting in Inglewood that also left an officer with a wound to a hand.
Police responded around 3 a.m. to the 3800 block of 113th Street on a report of a man screaming, according to Inglewood police Lt. Scott Collins.
It was not immediately clear what transpired when police arrived, but shots rang out and a man was killed, Collins said. It was unclear exactly how the officer was wounded, or if the suspect was armed.
Collins said an officer was hospitalized with a hand wound and was listed as stable.
Ed Winter of the Coroner’s office said the dead man was in his 30s. His name was not immediately released, pending notification of relatives.
The name of the dead man was withheld, pending family notification.
