Three-time UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin, is a dedicated athlete determined to stay in fighting shape in its prime shape with the right mix of exercise and proper nutrition for a successful fight and most importantly a successful life outside the ring. Now Franklin is sharing his experience via ZeLin, a nutritionally and environmentally consciences company founded on the idea of “respect philosophy†with partner, Billy Zebe. The new company will open its first location in Beverly Hills within the next two weeks.
Franklin (the ‘Lin’) and Zebe (the ‘Ze’) have developed an eight-prong approach to maximizing your diet by adapting Franklin’s ‘octagon’ training menu for those who want to get in fighting shape – but without entering the ring. Franklin advocates giving your body plenty of nutrients throughout the day in the form of vegetables for vitamins, protein for muscle building and carbohydrates when you truly need an energy boost. Thus, ZeLin’s menu includes blends like “Green Goods†which includes: parsley, kale, celery, lemon, cucumber, romaine lettuce and Celtic sea salt. Because the partners also have a sweet tooth, ZeLin will also offers fresh baked organic and vegan muffins, single serve cakes, and cookies. Unlike most of their store-bought counterparts these desserts are not made with refined and processed ingredients nor do they have unthinkable amounts of fat. So eat up. What the kids don’t know won’t hurt them.
The “respect philosophy†doesn’t stop at the menu. The stores will be built using eco-friendly materials and utilize green products. The company will also serve their community initializing mentoring and training opportunities to “at risk†youth who have graduated from Sunburst Youth Challenge.
Look for the Beverly Hills store to open on October 1, 2013
