A telephoned bomb threat led to a search of the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport today, but nothing was found.
Los Angeles airport police received the report of the “telephoned, non- specific bomb threat” involving the terminal about noon, according to Marshall Lowe, spokesman for LAX.
No evacuations were ordered, but traffic on the upper level was diverted in the central terminal area as a precaution, Lowe said.
Police searched the terminal, but after about an hour, the scene was cleared and traffic restrictions were lifted, Lowe said.
The threat was made about three hours before President Barack Obama was scheduled to return to the airport to board Air Force One en route to Washington, D.C.
