The Palm Restaurant, which has served up steaks and other gourmet dishes on Santa Monica Boulevard since 1975, will close at the end of September in preparation for a move to Beverly Hills, the owners announced on Friday.
The Palm, renowned for the celebrity caricatures that adorn the walls of the eatery at 9001 Santa Monica Blvd., will close Sept. 30, with opening scheduled in early November at a new location at 267 N. Canon Drive.
“The Palm has been here for almost 40 years, and while we are sad to leave our home on Santa Monica Boulevard, we are excited to be opening a new Palm just a few minutes away in Beverly Hills,” said Bruce Bozzi Jr., great-grandson of Pio Bozzi, who co-founded The Palm in 1926 with John Ganzi.
The Beverly Hills location will be 6,000 square feet, offering seating for 185 people and featuring a private dining room. Tanya Hodge, the general manager of the West Hollywood restaurant, will hold the same post at the new spot.
As for the caricatures, the celebrities and power-brokers depicted in them will be invited to take their likeness home.
