A Southwest Airlines jet with malfunctioning flaps made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), a newspaper reported today.
Flight 1704 from Sacramento was scheduled to land at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank Saturday afternoon but was diverted to LAX, the L.A. Times reported after contacting a Southwest official.
There was a problem with the flaps and the plane circled Bob Hope Airport before landing at LAX with its longer runway, the official told the times.
The aircraft was taken out of service, there were no injuries and the airline worked to help customers get to their destinations, the official told The Times.
LAX spokeswoman Katherine Alvarado said she had no information about a Southwest Airlines emergency landing.
