Authorities today continued their efforts to find the suspects responsible for critically beating a fan in the parking lot of Angel Stadium of Anaheim following a playoff game there on Friday night.
The beating occurred at 10:30 p.m. Friday, according to Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn.
A 43-year-old Huntington Beach man and a relative were walking in the parking lot when they were attacked “without provocation by three individuals,” Dunn said. “He was severely beaten. No weapons were involved.”
The victim, a father of three, was walking with a cousin, ABC7 reported.
Witnesses contacted officers who were in the parking lot, and they immediately found the victim at the scene, he said. “He was taken to the hospital in critical condition,” according to Dunn.
“There was nothing to suggest an argument began inside of the game or a fan rivalry,” Dunn said.
The witnesses who contacted police could not offer anything about motive and no more description other than that three individuals were involved, he said.
The team lost to the Kansas City Royals 8-3 on Sunday. It was the third and deciding victory for Kansas City in the American League Division Series.
Anyone knowing more about the crime was urged to call police.
