Showtime announced Monday it has ordered a second season of “The Affair” and a fifth season of “Homeland.”
“In its fourth season, ‘Homeland’ has brilliantly reinvented itself,” Showtime Networks Inc. President David Nevins said.
“It continues to capture the attention of a devoted fan base, and has provided an enviable platform for the successful launch of ‘The Affair.’ With thought-provoking, timely and addictive storylines, both series have been embraced, dissected and much debated week after week.”
“The Affair” is averaging 3.9 million weekly viewers across all platforms for its first season. The fourth season of “Homeland’ is averaging 6 million weekly viewers across platforms, with viewership increasing each week, according to Nielsen figures provided by the premium cable network.
