Films including “The Imitation Game,” “Pride” and “Tammy,” along with television shows such as “The Fosters,” “Transparent” and “Pretty Little Liars,” were among those nominated today for the 26th annual GLAAD Media Awards, honoring portrayals of the LGBT community and issues affecting their lives.

“The Imitation Game,” “Pride” and “Tammy” were nominated for wide- release films, with “Love is Strange” and “The Skeleton Twins” rounding out the category. For limited-release films, nominations went to “Dear White People,” “Life Partners,” “Lilting,” “The Way He Looks” and “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.”

Sponsored by GLAAD, an advocacy group for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, the awards will be presented during ceremonies held March 21 at the Beverly Hilton and May 9 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.

Amazon Video’s Golden Globe-winning comedy “Transparent” was nominated for best comedy series, along with “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Faking It,” “Glee,” “Looking,” “Modern Family,” “Orange Is the New Black,” “Please Like Me,” “Sirens” and “Vicious.”

For best drama series, nominations went to “Degrassi,” “The Fosters,” “Game of Thrones,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” “Last Tango in Halifax,” “Masters of Sex,” “Orphan Black,” “Pretty Little Liars” and “Shameless.”

Receiving special recognition during the ceremonies will be the videogame “Dragon Age: Inquisition” for its “complex and unique LGBT characters prominently integrated throughout the game.” The Mexican band Los Tigres del Norte will also receive a special honor for its song “Era Diferente,” about a young girl in love with her female best friend.
