Angelina Jolie makes first public appearance after ovary procedure at Kids Choice Awards

Actress-director Angelina Jolie made her first public appearance since announcing she had her ovaries removed as a precaution against cancer to accept a Kids Choice Award.

She was joined by daughters Shiloh and Zahara as she accepted the award for Best Villain for her role in ‘the 2014 film “Maleficent.” And she encouraged her young fans to embrace being unique.

“When somebody tells you you’re different, smile and hold your head up high and be proud,” Jolie said. “And as your villain, I would also say cause a little trouble. It’s good for you.”

The awards were handed out at the Forum in Inglewood where host Nick Jonas also took home an award for Favorite Male Singer.
