Two deputies were injured in Malibu Sunday night when their patrol car crashed into a guardrail and rolled over while they were responding to a request for assistance by other deputies, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.
The crash happened at about 6:45 p.m. at Kanan Dume and Latigo Canyon roads, said Lt. Jennifer Seetoo of the Malibu Sheriff’s Station.
The deputies were responding to a request for assistance by other deputies dealing with a man throwing bottles in the middle of Pacific Coast Highway, Seetoo said.
Responding deputies rescued the deputies in the rollover crash, Seetoo said. They were airlifted to a hospital after Los Angeles County firefighters assessed their injuries.
It was determined at the hospital the deputies’ injuries were not life- threatening, she said.
The crash was under investigation and Kanan Dume and Latigo Canyon roads were closed in the area, Seetoo said.
