Repaving work on the northbound Hollywood (101) Freeway between downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood will continue tonight and through the weekend.
Lane closures between Western Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard will take place starting at 11 p.m. and continue during overnight hours through Sunday, according to Caltrans.
As many as three lanes will be closed between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, officials said.
In several locations, crews will be using pre-cast jointed concrete pavement, panels of which will be trucked in and installed with a crane, Patrick Chandler of Caltrans said.
Use of the panels reduces maintenance costs and closure times, he said.
The work is part of a nearly $20 million project that is due for completion by the end of next year, Chandler said.
