A 4-year-old bassett hound went from rags to riches this week when she was adopted by one of the world’s most famous couples.
Up until Wednesday, Millie was living at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society shelter, where she was taken earlier this month after being found begging for food outside an area restaurant.
All shelter dogs are hoping to find a good home, but Millie literally hit the jackpot when George and Amal Clooney came for a visit.
According to the shelter, the power couple were in the market for a basset hound and were searching on the adoption website Petfinder. Lo and behold, a photo of Millie popped up and grabbed the Clooneys’ attention.
“They did a ‘meet and greet’ with her and spent time introducing her to their other rescue, a cocker spaniel named Louie,” according to the shelter’s website. “It was good news that Millie and Louie hit it off and the happy new family headed home together!
“We hope Millie will stay in touch and send photos. Congratulations to the Clooney family and thank you for adopting!”
