Social City News: Bow Wow Beverly Hills, ‘Friendly’ Kelly Osbourne & Board Of Governors

The theme was “Vintage Las Vegas” when the Amanda Foundation held their annual Halloween fundraiser. It was because honoree, Tina Sinatra, recently donated a generous $1 million to this non-profit animal charity, which has placed thousands of dogs and cats in L.A.

Tina received the Worthy of Love Award, which has previously been awarded to Kaley Cuoco, Pauly Perrette, and the Dog Whisperer himself, Cesar Milan.

This year’s event included a Casino Night, a fab silent auction, and delicious cuisine by Crossroads Restaurant; plus a special Halloween cocktail, the “Tina-tini.”

Of course, the highlight of the evening was the doggie costume contest and we couldn’t resist sharing photos of  some of the perky participants and their proud parents.

These include actress Teri Astin, founder of the Amanda Foundation; Lili Bosse (ex-Mayor of Beverly Hills), and of course, the doggie diva who won the coveted costume prize!

Actress, designer, and TV personality Kelly Osbourne was honored by Peggy Albrecht Friendly House on Oct. 24 at the Beverly Hilton; the first residential program for women recovering from alcohol and drug abuse.

Friendly House Board of Directors President, Allison Roeders, spoke about the vital work of the organization, and its remarkable success rate for more than 64 years!

Kelly received her Woman of the Year Award from fashion stylist Brad Goreski (“Fashion Police”). The Man of the Year Award was presented to singer-songwriter, Moby, who unfortunately was unable to attend, as he was in Paris working on his latest album.

Moby works closely with a number of charities including the Humane Society and “Mobygratis” which provides free music to independent filmmakers.

And last, but not least, happy to report that over $1.4 million was raised by Cedars-Sinai Board of Directors, at their Annual Gala.

Jay Leno hosted the star-studded event, and provided the sold-out audience with non-stop laughs.

As he stated: “In the last decade alone, the Board of Governors has committed $100 million to fund lifesaving research. This, of course, is what Trump calls lunch money.”

The Humanitarian award was presented to Thomas Gordon, who was honored for his 21 years of contributions to the Cedars-Sinai family.

To top off an exciting evening, Tony and Emmy winning Kristin Chenoweth dazzled the crowd with her renditions of “Over the Rainbow,” and selections from her role in the hit Broadway musical, Wicked.

Bravo to event chairs, Paul Guerin and John Bendheim for presenting a glamorous and most enjoyable event.
