The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 19th consecutive day, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $2.848.
The average price has dropped 13 cents over the past 19 days, including 1.2 cents on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The declines began immediately after the average price rose to its highest amount since Jan. 14.
The average price is 5.7 cents less than one week ago, 10.2 cents lower than one month ago and $1.349 below what it was one year ago.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 24-day streak from Feb. 2-25.
The Orange County average price dropped nine-tenths of a cent to $2.829. The average price has decreased for 18 consecutive days, dropping 13.5 cents, including 1.3 cents on Saturday.
The Orange County average price is 6.4 cents less than one week ago, 11.2 cents lower than one month ago and $1.346 below what it was one year ago.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 25-day streak from Feb. 1-25.
