Los Angeles International Airport will see a record number of travelers this Labor Day weekend, with more than 800,000 passengers expected to pass through the facility, according to airport officials.
Around 817,000 passengers are scheduled to come through LAX from today through Monday — 7.2 percent more than the 762,000 people who passed through the airport during last year’s holiday weekend.
Today is projected to be the busiest day, with about 223,000 travelers, while Monday will bring 219,000 passengers to LAX.
Airport officials warned travelers to expect slower-than-usual traffic in the Central Terminal Area when planning their trip to LAX. They also advised motorists to check their Waze smartphone navigation app, which contains road closure and traffic condition information provided by the airport.
