Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott were ordered by a judge to pay $202,000 to City National Bank after the institution sued the couple in 2016, alleging they were delinquent in paying the balance owed on a $400,000 loan.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Rafael Ongkeko’s order, issued Monday, also included an additional assessment against Spelling for $17,730.
A representative for the two celebrities could not be immediately reached for comment on the bank’s successful motion for a default judgment in its breach-of-contract suit.
The complaint filed Dec. 20 stated that the couple took out the loan in December 2012 and owed an unpaid principal balance of $188,800, plus interest.
The balance was immediately due because the actors “materially defaulted” by not paying the regular monthly payments, according to the complaint.
Spelling, 44, and McDermott, 50, did not satisfy their obligations despite being sent a demand letter on Dec. 2, the suit stated.
