One of most expensive condos ever purchase in LA

In one of the most expensive condo sales in Los Angeles history, Abel Tesfaye, the singer-songwriter more commonly known as The Weeknd, has purchased one of the last penthouses in the Beverly West, the boutique condominium in Westwood.
The singer paid $21 million for the condo, which comes out to $2,555 a square foot for the residence which takes up the entire 18th floor of Beverly West. This ties the record for a condo purchase in Los Angeles this year. In June real estate developer Richard Lewis bought another unit in Beverly West for the same price. The highest price ever paid for a condo in Los Angeles is $35 million, by Candy Spelling for a two-story penthouse at the Century building in Century City.
The Weeknd’s new penthouse is known as the “Mogul” and features a dark, masculine palette of navy blue along with walnut wood paneling. In addition, the 8,215-square-foot condo includes a designer kitchen, imported wide-plank oak floors, direct elevator access and walls of floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views all around.
The Beverly West building, developed by Emaar Properties, a United Arab Emirates real estate firm, is comprised of 35 units and includes a 24-hour concierge, gym, saltwater swimming pool and rooftop helipad.
