Authorities are looking for a man wanted for sexual battery after he grabbed a female student by the buttocks this week on the UCLA campus, police have announced.
According to the University of California, Los Angeles Police Department (UCLA PD) in an alert released Tuesday, the incident occurred on December 3 at around 2:10 a.m. near the Covel Commons at 200 De Neve Drive.
“…the suspect approached the victim on the Covel Steps near Covel Commons and grabbed her buttocks,” UCLA PD said in an alert.
UCLA police describe the suspect as a male, black, 23-28 years old, light-skinned, thin build, short black braided hair, wearing khaki or gray colored pants. The suspect was not wearing a shirt and had tattoos around his torso, according to police, who say the man was driving a silver or gray four-door sedan.
This incident is currently under investigation and UCLA PD is advising students, staff and the public to “Always be alert and aware of your surroundings” and to “Avoid poorly-lit or deserted areas when walking at night.”
