UCLA police have announced another sexual battery that occurred on campus on Monday, the second such incident to take place at the school this month.
In a Clery Timely Warning sent out on December 10, the UCLA Police Department (UCLA PD) described an incident that occurred that same evening around 7:30 p.m. at Hendrick Hall.
“the suspect walked up behind the victim while she was standing inside The Study café area and touched her buttocks,” UCLA PD said.
The victim, a UCLA student, described the still at-large suspect as a male, Asian, 18 years old, 5’9”, 200 lbs, black short spiky hair, and wearing a dark blue long-sleeved plaid flannel and light khaki pants.
This is the second such reported incident to have occurred to a UCLA student this month. According to UCLA PD, on December 3 around 2:30 a.m. another suspect, described as a black male between 23-28 years old, approached a student on the Covel Steps near Covel Commons and grabbed her buttocks.
Both these incidents are currently under investigation and UCLA PD is advising students, staff and the public to “Always be alert and aware of your surroundings” and to “Avoid poorly-lit or deserted areas when walking at night.”
