Anti-Semitic graffiti was spray-painted on a synagogue on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles, just blocks away from a museum with a strong focus on the history of the Holocaust.
As seen in a photo posted on Facebook by Nathan Benywotiz on Tuesday graffiti saying “F**k Kikes” followed by “Daniel M” was spray-painted outside Orthodox Persian synagogue Ahavat Shalom, located at 9240 W Pico Blvd, less than a mile away from the Museum of Tolerance.
“As I was walking home from a nice walk with my mum I spotted this at a local synagogue on PICO BLVD. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. There is no room for hatred in this world, especially during these times. This is a time that we have to all come together as one. Am Yisrael Chai!!!!” Benywotiz, a University of Delaware student living with family in the Pico-Robertson area during of the coronavirus pandemic, wrote.
The graffiti was condemned by Anti-Defamation League Los Angeles in a tweet.
“We are outraged by reports of antisemitic graffiti outside a synagogue in LA. In the midst of a pandemic in which it is more important than ever for us to stand together and just before the start of Passover, it is shocking to see this hateful message on a house of worship,” Anti-Defamation League Los Angeles wrote.
