A woman is under fire for harassing and attempting to prevent a Black man from making a food delivery at a Westwood apartment complex.
A young Black man, 22-year-old Jordan Mykel Gipson, was seen trying to make a food delivery at an apartment, all while getting harassed by a white woman who lived inside the building.
The woman refused to let him in, even after he explained he was there to deliver food and called the apartment owner who was then questioned by the woman. She still would not let the Gipson in the building and blocked his entry inside.
In the video the woman can be heard saying, “He’s a Black guy walking around with a clicker to get in every building.”
“We don’t want your delivery. I don’t want you here at all!” the woman added.
Gipson said he started recording for protection. Several have commented on the video saying that the attack was motivated by race.
“It’s a white woman, I’m a Black man. If I’d reacted angrily and yelled at her it wouldn’t have helped,” Gipson told Fox 11 Los Angeles. “I think we need to see this as an opportunity to grow, even her as a person can grow, but at the same time we need to condemn people for the things that they say and things that they do.”
