A man is in custody after a person was fatally shot near a West Los Angeles police station Sunday night.
Accoridng to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the shooting took place at 9:51 p.m. on the 1600 block of Butler Avenue, near Santa Monica Boulevard. This is around a block the West L.A. Community Police Station.
An altercation between the victim and suspect caused the shooting, according to the LAPD. The victim, described as a man in his 30s, passed away at the scene and has not yet been identified.
The suspect, also a man in his 30s whose name has not been released, was arrested near the scene.
No further details surrounding the motives are available, although the LAPD says it is not believed to be gang-related.
