A local resident was taken to a hospital in critical condition following a Sawtelle home-fire over the weekend.
According to Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Public Information Officer Brian Humphrey, the fire was reported at 2493 S Armacost Avenue around 1 a.m. on December 19.
34 LAFD firefighters responded to find a 851 square-foot one-story home burning with “heavy fire”. It took crews 17 minutes to put out the blaze.
“During their simultaneous fire attack and search of the fire- and smoke-charged residence, LAFD crews rescued and provided medical care to an adult male found inside the burning residence, who had sustained unspecified injuries,” Humphrey said.
The victim was taken by LAFD Paramedics to an area hospital in critical condition.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under active investigation.
