UCLA police warn of off campus hot prowl burglars

Police are searching for a man wanted for breaking and entering an occupied Westwood apartment and stealing $800 over the weekend.
According to the UCLA Police Department (UCLA PD), on March 21 around 2 a.m. the suspect was seen prowling inside a residence on the 500 block of Landfaire Avenue. When confronted, the suspect quickly left the area.
UCLA PD says around $800 was reported missing by the victim, who was in the apartment at the time of the crime.
According to police, the suspect is described as a White male between 5’9″ and 5’11” wearing a black beanie, black hat and black pants at the time.
The victim is a UCLA student.
This was the second such incident in recent days in the area. According to UCLA PD on March 19 around 8:30 a.m. another victim reported an unknown suspect who attempted to enter his apartment on the 3100 block of Sepulveda. The victim, who was in the apartment at the time, says the suspect was unable to enter due to the unit’s security latch. The victim in this incident is also a UCLA student.
Both the incident described above are under investigation.
