Police looking for suspect connected to April 5 incident

Police are looking for a man who committed a strong-arm robbery in Westwood Village recently.
According to the UCLA Police Department, on April 5 around 2:30 p.m., the suspect approached the victim, a UCLA staff member, in the area of Veteran Avenue and Weyburn Drive and demanded his backpack multiple times in an aggressive manner.
“The suspect attempted to remove the backpack off of the victim and eventually fled with the victim’s backpack,” UCLA Police said.
The suspect is described by police as a Black man, 6’2”-6’3”, 180-190 lbs, short black hair, brown eyes, and black beard wearing a long sleeve black shirt with red and orange lettering on the front, gray sweatpants and black sneakers.
