Tuk Tuk Thai now open in former Cafe Dahab space

Tuk Tuk Thai has reopened in its new Sawtelle location as reported by Eater Los Angeles. The new location for this westside fave is at the space formerly occupied by Cafe Dahab right next to Cinefile Video and just around the corner from the Nuart Theatre on the northern edge of Sawtelle Japantown. After 23 years on Pico Boulevard, Tuk Tuk has moved with chef Amanda Kuntee and sister/partner Katy Noochlaor, who also run Same Same Thai Restaurant in Silver Lake.
The new space will hold 50 patrons in the inside space, which is on the small side, and at outdoor tables. The restaurant serves hot pot dishes, fire Thai salads, fried rice dishes, street noodles, curry classics and has a vegan snack and market greens areas of the menu. You can find pork belly specialties and what’s known as the main event or Bangkok steak, BBQ pork collar, and Khao San Road Khao Mood Dang or Thai Chinese street food with pork two ways, BBQ pork and crispy pork belly as well as the familiar sour sausage dish, Sai Krok Isan and classics like Pad Thai and spring rolls.
The beverages are also of the classic non-alcoholic drinks that you know, Thai Iced Tea and Coffee, as well as a vegan versions of the ever popular drinks, Lychee drink, Mango drink, Singha Soda Water as well as canned sodas and bottled Mexican Coca Cola products. No alcohol is available yet, but you can sate your sweet tooth with their desserts including roti, mango with sweet sticky rice, a new tapioca pudding with jackfruit, pandan flavor and coconut milk and a coconut flan.
