The former residence of the musical artist The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye is up for sale for $36.1 million as reported by The Real Deal.com. The home is a penthouse in the Beverly West complex, a luxury residence located at 1200 Club Drive that sits across the street from the Los Angeles Country Club and is off Wilshire Boulevard. Beverly West is a 22 story building with 35 units that has been dubbed “the most exclusive residential tower in Los Angeles” by the owners of the building itself. Emaar, a development company from Dubai, built Beverly West in 2009 and is also responsible for Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.
The building’s amenities include a rooftop helipad, 24 hour concierge and saltwater pool. The five penthouses in the complex were designed with specific color schemes and interior furnishings to work well with certain personality types as was reported by The Los Angeles Times.
The Weeknd occupied “Penthouse 21” which is the entire 21 floor of the building and at 8,200 square feet with three bedrooms and four bathrooms has all the space that one could want. This penthouse unit is also known as “The Musicians”, which seems like a natural home for an artist such as Tesfaye. The unit has a subdued musical theme within the decor with amenities such as walk in wardrobes, Italian stone and white oak flooring and, as quoted by The Real Deal.com, “locally fabricated custom natural wood veneer millwork walls.” The Weeknd also bought one of the other penthouses at Beverly West, known as “The Mogul”, for $21 million in 2019 but has already put the property back on the market for $22.5 million after moving into a mansion in Bel Air that is worth $69 million.
At $36.1 million, this residence is one of the most expensive multifamily units in the Los Angeles real estate market.
