Sunday, June 26 concert set at Westwood Library

Los Angeles Police Department is hosting its third annual Independence Day concert at Westwood Library. On Sunday, June 26th, at 2:30 pm, the event will take place upstairs. It is free admission and parking for the public opens at 2:00pm. Masks will be required for the audience.
This will be the first performance of the LAPD Band Ensemble since the pandemic. Prior to covid, the band held three to five concerts a year.
The LAPD Band Ensemble is just 20% of the full band, conducted by the baton of Maestro Richard Allen. Along with Richard Allen, the band ranges with different instruments including the double brass, trombone, trumpets, and more. Also, the performance will include a singer and an MC.
The concert will include American classic and patriotic music. During the event, their is a salute to all branches of the armed forces. Terry Tegnazian, President of LA Musical Salon, stated that the performance is “moving”.
Funding is provided by the Friends of Westwood Library, Westwood Homeowners Association, Westwood Village Rotary Club, Humbly-Westwood Property Owners Association, Los Angeles Musical Salon, and Office of Councilmenber Paul Kortez, Fifth Council District.
