NTSB Investigates Cessna 172 Crash in Los Angeles; Wreckage to be Recovered Today
A single-engine airplane crash that occurred on April 29 has claimed the life of 38-year-old Alon Inditzky. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the wreckage was found near a home at 3045 Beverly Glen Circle.
LAFD responders discovered a body at the scene. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is currently investigating the incident, which involved a Cessna 172 airplane that departed from Bermuda Dunes Airport and was destined for Camarillo Airport but diverted to Van Nuys Airport.
The wreckage is expected to be recovered on May 1 and moved to a facility where NTSB investigators will conduct a wreckage layout and examination. The preliminary report, which will include factual information learned to date, is expected to publish in 15 days.
As part of the investigation, NTSB investigators will examine the human, machine, and environment involved in the crash. They will also request radar data, weather information, maintenance records, and the pilot’s medical records. However, at this early stage of the investigation, the NTSB has not stated a cause and will provide factual information when available.
Investigations involving fatalities and other major incidents typically take between 12 and 24 months to complete. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Alon Inditzky during this difficult time.
