Former Friars Club Site Transforms into Exclusive Condominium Development

Construction at the former Friars Club site is progressing as the Rosewood Residences project enters its ninth month of development, as reported by Urbanize Los Angeles. New York-based Nahla Capital and Los Angeles-based GPI Cos. are collaborating on this ambitious $100 million venture, featuring a four-story building that will house 17 luxurious condominiums and 12,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. The project also includes provisions for ample parking, accommodating up to 148 vehicles.
When construction commenced in mid-2022, the Rosewood Residences were projected to set new records in L.A.’s condo market, with anticipated sales prices reaching as high as $40 million. The property, named after renowned operator Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, will offer a range of two-, three-, four-, and five-bedroom units spanning from approximately 3,000 to 7,000 square feet in size.
Since its initial approval in 2020, plans for the 9900 Wilshire site have changed significantly. Originally slated to feature 25 smaller condominiums ranging from 1,124 to 4,044 square feet, the revised design promises a refined and upscale living experience. Executive architect MVE + Partners oversees the project. New York-based architect Thomas Juul-Hansen is responsible for the building’s design. Plans are for each residence to provide private elevator and stairway access and access to shared amenities such as a pool and fitness center.
As construction progresses, the Rosewood Residences are poised to become a highly sought-after address in Beverly Hills, offering discerning buyers luxury living and an esteemed location.
