Experience the Delights of Handmade Pasta at Violet LA’s Cooking Class

By Dolores Quintana

Violet LA restaurant hosts cooking classes as a part of its cooking school. On June 21, participants will delve into pasta-making using traditional tools. Hosted by Violet LA’s, Chef Kathy Katz will teach attendees to cook a delectable menu featuring Violet’s classic Italian dishes through hands-on activities and demonstrations. Violet LA is located at 1121 Glendon Avenue in Westwood.

The evening will commence with a demonstration showcasing the preparation of Crispy Artichokes and Baguettes with Butter, a delightful appetizer that sets the stage for the culinary journey ahead. Following this, participants will be treated to Caprese Towers, a flavorful combination of Ripe Tomatoes, Olive Tapenade, and Fresh Mozzarella, showcasing the freshness and simplicity of Italian cuisine.

The highlight of the class will be the creation of Handmade Pasta with Vodka Sauce. Participants can work with traditional rustic tools, such as pasta rollers and cutters, as they transform simple ingredients into mouthwatering pasta. Under the guidance of the chefs, attendees will master the techniques required to achieve the perfect texture and flavor in their pasta creations. The class will also feature a refreshing side dish of Broccolini with Lemon and Garlic to complement the pasta, adding a vibrant and nutritious element to the menu.

No Italian culinary experience is complete without a tempting dessert, and in this class, participants can indulge in Tiramisu Mousse. This luscious treat combines the classic flavors of tiramisu in a creamy and airy mousse, providing a sweet ending to an unforgettable evening.

The Art of Pasta Making class costs $165 per guest, offering excellent value for a memorable culinary experience. You can register for the course here. This class promises to deepen your appreciation for the craft of pasta making while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow food enthusiasts.
