Meeting Will Take Place At Belmont Village Senior Living On Wilshire Boulevard

The Westwood Neighborhood Council is set to hold its regular board meeting on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at Belmont Village Senior Living and cover various aspects of community engagement and local issues concerning the Westwood neighborhood.
Public officials are scheduled to address the meeting. Each speaker will have a two-minute slot to address the attendees. Some of the public officials scheduled to speak include SLO James Allen from the WLA Community Police Station, Radmehr (Rad) Nowroozi representing Senator Ben Allen, Marco Perez from UCLA Community Relations, Patricia Macias from Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky’s office, Janet Turner from U.S. Congressman Ted Lieu’s team, Amanda Laflin representing Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, Sherwin Shamoeil from Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur’s office, and Sean Regan from U.S. Congressman Brad Sherman’s office.
The meeting will also include a Treasurer’s Report presented by Laura Winikow, providing insights into the financial status and allocations of the Westwood Neighborhood Council. A significant focus of the meeting will be the discussion regarding implementing various outreach efforts aimed at improving Westwood Gardens Park. This will involve updates and reports from the Standing Committee responsible for overseeing the park’s development and maintenance.
