Discover a new Premier Cocktail and Dining Destination In Westwood
By Dolores Quintana
Wolfsglen is one of Westwood’s most exciting new restaurants at 1071 Glendon Avenue. The restaurant proudly stands as the neighborhood’s distinguished cocktail and dining destination. Offering a fusion of New American cuisine with a global Angeleno influence, Wolfsglen is a haven for connoisseurs of fine dining and expertly crafted cocktails.
Inspired by the legacy of John Wolfskill, a former state senator and pioneering rancher instrumental in shaping the land where Westwood Village now thrives, Wolfsglen seamlessly blends history, culture, and cuisine to create a unique dining experience. The establishment quietly opened its doors in November 2022 under the leadership of its hospitality team, including CFO Mark Garcia, Director of Operations Fernanda Hay, General Manager Sammy Espinoza, Chef Fidel Guzman, Sous Chef & Pastry Chef Moriah Castañeda, and Bar Manager Edward Ruiz.
The culinary odyssey at Wolfsglen begins with Chef Fidel Guzman, who crafts a New American seasonal menu that celebrates global Angeleno flavors using the finest seasonal and fresh ingredients. The appetizer selection, “To Start,” features an array of delectable dishes, including Brown Butter Labneh, Hummus with chili crisps, Burrata with grilled and flambé peaches, Esquites, Mushroom Arancini, Shrimp Toast, Steak Tartare, Shawarma, and Bone Marrow & Black Garlic, among other delights.
Handmade Pastas take the spotlight with Chef Fidel’s Rigatoni Diavola, Cacio e Pepe, and Bolognese, each meticulously prepared to perfection. The Entrées menu tantalizes with options such as Pan Roasted Pork Chop with a togarashi-whiskey glaze, Steak Frites, Wolfsglen Burger with candied bacon and spicy aioli, Beyond Burger, Roast Chicken with aji verde and pea tendrils, Seared Salmon with pineapple ginger glaze and miso potato purée, Seared Striped Bass, and Cauliflower Steak with curry and raisin chutney.
For those with a sweet tooth, the culinary duo of Chef Fidel Guzman and sous chef and pastry Chef Moriah Castañeda presents an enticing selection of desserts, including Homemade Peach Pie, Mango Sweet Rice, Deconstructed Strawberry Cheesecake, and Ricotta Donuts with blueberry compote and lemon curd.
The bar program at Wolfsglen, initially conceived by Fernanda Hay and now led by Bar Manager Edward Ruiz, offers a diverse range of perfectly balanced and creative cocktails. Signature concoctions include the Razz-Mez-Tazz, Purple Rain, Geisha’s Kiss, and Black Gold, among others. Wolfsglen also boasts a thoughtfully curated selection of white wine, red wine, rosé, sparkling wine, beer, and cider.
Set within a historic two-story building dating back to the 1930s, Wolfsglen exudes elegance with its high ceilings, modern design, lush patio for al fresco dining, and private event spaces.
