The Department of Public Works Bureau of Street Services (StreetsLA) is the driving force behind STAP, the bus shelter program for the City of Los Angeles. STAP aims to provide shelter, shade, safety, and comfort, with the goal of ensuring 75% of all bus riders in each Council District can board buses from locations with a transit shelter. To exceed this goal, STAP will introduce 3,000 new shelters and other planned sidewalk amenities.
