Beverly Hills Police Reveal Cause of Tesla Cybertruck Collision at Beverly Hills Hotel

Investigation Unveils Details of Incident Involving Elon Musk’s “Cyberbeast” Vehicle

The Beverly Hills Police Department has announced the cause of the accident that occurred at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunday night last week. In the accident, as we reported, a Tesla Cybertruck, the bulky and much heralded new vehicle from Tesla that Elon Musk insisted was “apocalypse proof,” seemed to have come off badly in a collision with the planter underneath the Beverly Hills hotel sign.

Twitter user @Jackdidthatt joked on the social media site that is also owned by Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, that the Beverly Hills Hotel valet crashed his friend’s Cybertruck and asked for his help in getting a replacement. Musk responded by blaming the hotel’s valet without checking to confirm the tweet by saying, “Cyberbeast is faster than a Porsche 911 but looks like a truck, so perhaps the valet wasn’t expecting so much acceleration.”

The car did not seem so indestructible based on photos of the accident.

However, the claim that the Cybertruck was fast may have been more accurate because the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) released a statement on March 13 that confirmed that speed was a factor in the accident.

The press release states, “On March 3, 2024, at approximately 11:46 P.M., the Beverly Hills Police Department was called to the scene of a traffic collision in the 9600 block of Sunset Blvd.

The collision involved a single vehicle, identified as a Tesla Cybertruck, which collided with a retaining wall on the private property of the Beverly Hills Hotel. The Tesla was traveling westbound on Sunset Blvd. when it attempted to turn into the hotel’s driveway/entrance, resulting in major front-end damage.

The Beverly Hills Fire Department also responded to the scene to assess and treat three passengers who reported pain-related injuries. However, none of the injured passengers required transportation for further medical attention.

Following an investigation, authorities concluded that unsafe speed was a contributing factor to the accident. The Beverly Hills Police Department took the opportunity to remind all motorists to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits, particularly when navigating turns and entering private properties.”
