Superintendent Dr. Bregy Cites Safety Concerns and Expresses Gratitude
The Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) has announced that the city’s schools will be closed again on Friday, January 10, via a social media post. The school district’s superintendent, Dr. Bregy, posted this message at 4:45 p.m. The district hopes to reopen on Monday, January, 13.
After careful consideration and meetings throughout the day with our neighboring school district superintendents and local/state officials, out of an abundance of caution, all BHUSD schools and offices will remain closed tomorrow, Friday, January 10th. All before and after-school activities, including City Programs, are also canceled.
At this time, we anticipate reopening on Monday, January 13th and will provide updates if the situation changes. An update regarding weekend activities will be shared tomorrow afternoon when more clarity is available.
We are truly grateful for the remarkable patience, understanding, and cooperation demonstrated by our families and staff. To our families, thank you for your flexibility and resilience, which continue to showcase the strength of our community. To our staff, many of whom are facing personal challenges and even displacement during this time, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication to our students. Your commitment inspires us all.
Please stay safe, informed, and prepared as we monitor these evolving conditions. Our thoughts remain with all those impacted by the fires and we are committed to supporting our community through these trying times.”
