One Person Hospitalized, Light Pole Smashed After Late-Night Collision
One driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, and another person was hospitalized after a rollover crash late Sunday night in West Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The collision occurred just after 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bundy Drive and Nebraska Avenue. Police said one vehicle struck another under circumstances that are still being investigated. It is not yet clear whether the second car was parked or in motion.
The impact caused one vehicle to overturn and collide with a nearby pole or tree. Footage from the scene showed a mangled light pole and an overturned car resting on its roof.
Officers arriving at the scene located the suspected DUI driver, who was seen speaking with police before being administered a field sobriety test. He was later handcuffed and taken into custody.
One person involved in the crash was transported to a hospital with injuries, though their condition was not immediately released.
Freelance outlet OnScene.TV reported that the driver may have been returning from a Dodgers game and believed he was fit to drive, though LAPD has not confirmed that detail.
