The League for Children’s annual event, A Starry Starry Night, held on October 10th at The London in West Hollywood was a shining success raising $133,000 net for Children’s Bureau. Approximately 200 guests were treated to sweeping panoramic views of Los Angeles from the London’s exclusive rooftop oasis along with a specially made cocktail and cuisine created by internationally acclaimed Chef Gordon Ramsey. The evening honored actress and philanthropist Rhonda Fleming Carlson. Ambassador Glen Holden was the Master of Ceremonies for the event that also included a rousing silent auction and musical tribute to Rhonda Fleming by John-Kevin Hilbert and Ensemble. Event Chairs were Rosemary Booth and Gretchen Smith. The League’s President is Mary Davis.
“We are so proud that all of the funds raised from this event will go towards helping the child development center at Children’s Bureau’s Magnolia Place Family Center. Children’s Bureau does extraordinary work to help at-risk children get a good start in life so they can succeed as adults,†said Rosemary Booth.
Over the past 24 years, The League for Children has raised $3 million in charitable funds to help benefit Children’s Bureau (www.all4kids.org), a 106-year-old nonprofit leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. More than 21,000 children and their families are served each year throughout Southern California with programs that include foster care and adoption, parenting classes, family resource centers, mental health counseling, support groups and more.
