A pile of foam padding that caught fire outside of a Venice warehouse was being investigated by arson detectives, authorities said Saturday.
The 10-foot by 20-foot pile of rubbish was reported burning at 5:47 p.m. in the 300 block of Rose Avenue, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said.
A team of 30 firefighters doused the flames in less than 30 minutes before it could have damaged the large, one-story warehouse, Scott said.
No injuries were reported.
LAFD and Los Angeles Police Department detectives were investigating the fire, which might have been sparked by illegal fireworks, Scott said.
