SANTA MONICA, CA, Dec. 9, 2013 — The Arthritis Foundation and Saint John’s Health Center have combined efforts to provide a free community lecture Living with Arthritis in 2014 – Resolution for Success! with functional strength testing. The program will be presented on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Monica Public Library Multipurpose Room.
From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., functional strength tests will be performed by physical therapists from Saint John’s Performance Therapy, who will assess strength and answer questions. At 12 p.m., Benjamin Butts, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, physical therapist and assistant director of Saint John’s Performance Therapy, will explain “Physical Ability and Function in Arthritis.†From 12:15 to 1:30 p.m., Kevin Ehrhart, MD, orthopedic surgeon from the Santa Monica Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Group at Saint John’s will discuss “Strategies for Successfully Managing Arthritis†and answer questions.
The Santa Monica Public Library is located at 601 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90401. Parking is available for $1/hour in the structure entered off of 7th Street (between Santa Monica Boulevard and Arizona Avenue).
