ATTORNEY MARC POSTER TO BE INSTALLED AS PRESIDENT OF BEVERLY HILLS BAR ASSOCIATION

Attorney Marc Poster will be installed as President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association
Attorney Marc Poster, a partner with the appellate law firm of Greines, Martin, Stein & Richland LLP, will be installed as President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA) at the organization�s annual Installation and Awards Dinner on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 6:30 P.M., at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles. In addition, attorney Sean O�Brien, of Cislo & Thomas LLP, will be sworn in as president of the BHBA Barristers, the young lawyers� section of the Bar Association, and attorney Geraldine Wyle, of Hoffman, Sabban & Watenmaker APC, will be installed as president of the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the BHBA. State Assemblyman Mike Feuer, who represents California�s 42nd District, is the keynote speaker.

Other officers and members of the BHBA Board of Governors and BHBA Barristers, as well as officers and members of the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation Board of Directors will be sworn in by the Honorable Charles Vogel (Ret.). Judge Vogel is former Presiding Justice of Division 4 of the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, former President of the State Bar of California and Fellow, American College of Trial Lawyers. In addition, several BHBA awards will be presented for outstanding service.

�It is an honor to serve as President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, which has long been committed to serving the legal profession at the highest possible level and to providing vital pro bono services to the community,� said Poster, who becomes the 79th BHBA president.

Other officers to be installed at the dinner include Stephen Raucher, President-Elect; Lawrence Jacobson, First Vice President; John Rubiner, Second Vice President; and Diane Karpman, Secretary/Treasurer.

In addition to Novak, Barristers officers being installed are Leigh Leshner, President-Elect; Sarah Talei, Treasurer; and Brian Smith, Secretary.

Other Beverly Hills Bar Foundation officers being installed include Geraldine Wyle, President; Paul Basile, President-Elect and Vice President Development; Cynthia Pasternak, Vice President, Scholarships; Lisa Maki, Secretary; and Robert Weinstock, Treasurer.

Several awards for outstanding service will be presented to BHBA members: ���Felicia Meyers will receive the President�s Award; Paul Basile will be given the Board of Governors� Award; Paul Weisman will receive the Executive Director�s Award; and Robert Lance will receive the Barristers� Lawrence J. Blake Award.

Proceeds from the Installation and Awards Dinner support the educational and community outreach programs of the BHBA.

The Beverly Hills Bar Association, founded in 1931, is the sixth largest bar association in California, and has nearly 4,000 members. Its mission is to serve its members, to lead the legal profession and to advocate for justice in the community.

About Marc Poster
Marc Poster is a partner with the appellate law firm of Greines, Martin, Stein & Richland LLP. He has specialized in appellate practice for nearly forty years. Educated at Stanford University and UCLA School of Law, he served as a Senior Research Attorney for the California Court of Appeal before he entered private practice. He is a member and past president of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, and a member and past chair of both the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Appellate Courts and Appellate Judicial Evaluations Committees. He writes and lectures frequently on appellate practice and ethics. Poster first became involved in the Beverly Hills Bar Association as chair of the Amicus Briefs Committee. After serving two terms as a member of the Board of Governors, he was elected Secretary-Treasurer and has worked his way up the leadership ladder. Poster has also chaired the BHBA�s Budget and Finance, Ways and Means and Bylaws Committees, and served as the association�s representative on the Board of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Keynote Speaker Assemblyman Mike Feuer was elected to represent California�s 42nd District in 2006. He currently chairs the Assembly Judiciary Committee and is a member of the Budget, Environmental Safety and Toxics and Insurance Committees. Assemblymember Feuer has also authored significant legislation on a range of issues. Prior to the Assembly, Feuer represented L.A.�s Fifth City Council District. He has also served as the Executive Director of Bet Tzedek Legal Services, the House of Justice. During his tenure, Bet Tzedek provided free legal representation to more than 50,000 people. The recipient of numerous awards for his work to promote education reform, affordable housing, violence reduction, and the rights of seniors and children, Feuer is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College, and a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.
