Auctioneer Doyle New York Opens New Office in Beverly Hills

jewelsDoyle New York, one of the world’s foremost auctioneers and appraisers, has opened a new office in Beverly Hills, California.

The office is directed by Nan Summerfield, who has been named a Senior Vice President in the company and Director of California Operations. The new office opened on October 1.

“We are delighted to welcome Nan Summerfield to the Doyle team,” said Kathleen M. Doyle, Chairman/CEO of Doyle New York.

“Nan brings over thirty-five years of experience to her position. As the new Director of California Operations, Nan will broaden and deepen our relationships on the West Coast.”

The expansion to California provides collectors, families, heirs and fiduciaries on the West Coast with direct and convenient access to Doyle New York’s full range of auction and appraisal services.

Ms. Summerfield, supported by Doyle New York’s team of specialists, will evaluate property in all categories for auctions in New York and periodic auctions in Los Angeles, which will begin in 2015.

For the past twenty years, Nan Summerfield, a GIA Graduate Gemologist, owned Summerfield’s, a successful firm in Beverly Hills that specialized in buying and selling estate jewelry. Prior to that she spent thirteen years as a Vice President in the Jewelry Department at Sotheby’s, first in New York, then in Los Angeles. For eight years, she developed and directed Sotheby’s jewelry auctions in Beverly Hills. Ms. Summerfield began her career at the Gemological Institute of America as a Staff Gemologist and Instructor.

“I am thrilled to be joining such an established and well-respected company,” said Nan Summerfield. “California is a very important market, and Doyle New York’s expansion to the West Coast provides collectors here with exciting new opportunities.”

Doyle New York’s new office is located at 9595 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, CA 90212, a block from famed Rodeo Drive.

Nan Summerfield may be reached at 310-276-6616 or DoyleLA@Doyle.com. She is always available to discuss the sale of a single item or an entire collection.

With the opening of the Beverly Hills office, Doyle New York is strengthening its existing relationships with clients in the Los Angeles area.

Doyle has long served the Hollywood community as auctioneer of the estates of such film legends as Gloria Swanson, James Cagney, Bette Davis, Rock Hudson, Joan Crawford, Ruth Gordon, Rex Harrison and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.
