August Westwood Village Shooting Victim in Stable Condition, Says LAPD

Suspect still at-large

By Sam Catanzaro

A victim from an August 22 Westwood Village shooting is in stable condition, Los Angeles police say.

According to the Daily Bruin, Los Angels Police Department (LAPD) Officer Pete Ojeda said at the September 2 North Westwood Neighborhood Council meeting the victim of an August 22 shooting outside Habibi Cafe is in stable condition.

The shooting took place around 3:40 a.m. August 22 at Habibi Cafe located at 923 Broxton Avenue, according to the LAPD.

The victim–a Black male in his 40s–was talking with the suspect while standing outside the suspect’s vehicle, according to the LAPD.

The suspect drove away before returning to where the victim was standing and fired shots at the victim, striking him multiple times. The victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
