Be Fruitful California, a charitable community-based organization, is ramping up its effort to deliver fresh, wholesome produce to the Westside Food Bank from local fruit and vegetable gardens. Volunteers for Be Fruitful California pick produce on residential properties and deliver the nutritious surplus for distribution.
Founder Chelsea Watson started Be Fruitful in 2009 to help bridge the gap between those in need of food assistance, and the healthy, abundant resources, that often go to waste, in our own backyards. Be Fruitful’s charitable model is a simple, green means to the age-old adage, “waste not, want not.â€
