Behind the Scenes of an NBA Photographer: A Seminar with Legendary Sports Photographer, Andrew D. Bernstein


Legendary sports photographer Andrew D. Bernstein will share insights on his 30+ years of groundbreaking sports photography during the new and exclusive photo seminar “Behind the Scenes of an NBA Photographer†presented by Tamrac, Samy’s Camera, and Nikon. The seminar will be held at Samy’s Camera EDU Department located at 475 S. Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, directly across the street from the Los Angeles Samy’s Camera store on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm

A veteran of over 30 years of sports, commercial and venue photography, Andrew D. Bernstein has photographed the NBA and NHL since 1980, as well six Olympic teams for USA Basketball. He and his company, Andrew D. Bernstein Associates Photography, Inc., have served as official photographer for almost every major team and venue in Southern California. Currently he is the team photographer for the Lakers, Clippers and Kings as well as Director of Photography for STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. Bernstein was team photographer for ten home teams to win a championship in basketball (Lakers in 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010), baseball (Dodgers in1988), and hockey (Kings in 2012). Additionally, Bernstein’s work has been published worldwide and he has had numerous awards and exhibitions. He is one of only four photographers whose work is on permanent display at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Bernstein’s presentation topics will include:
• Stories behind the most iconic sports images of the past 30 years
• Equipment, setup and shooting pro sports

Following his presentation, Bernstein will provide a book signing for Journey to the Ring: Behind the Scenes with the 2010 NBA Champion Lakers, his photo documentary book collaboration with former Lakers Head Coach Phil Jackson, which will be available for sale for $25.
