Officials from Beverly Hills and Israel have signed a partnership agreement intended to promote cooperation, understanding and friendship.
The joint declaration will result in discussions between officials from Beverly Hills and Israel on areas of agreed-upon mutual interest, according to Mayor Julian Gold and Israeli Consul General David Siegel.
The declaration also encourages task forces, trade delegations and professional exchanges, collaboration between educational and cultural institutions and strengthening the sister city relationship between Beverly Hills and the Israeli central coast city of Herzliya.
“I look forward to sharing with the Beverly Hills community Israel’s expertise in areas like water conservation, cyber security and public safety,” Siegel said after joining Gold in signing the declaration Tuesday night at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.
The signing was part of the Duet Gala featuring a performance of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta.
